THE MISSION
Pride 2020 celebrations are being canceled because of the COVID-19 crisis, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still show our pride. Plus every June companies take the opportunity to make a buck by selling ‘pride’ and ‘LGBTQ+’ branded merchandise, with rainbow-colored versions of their logo plastered on cheap tees. Worst of all, they don’t reinvest in our community or care about the individual stories that give us our pride.
That’s why I created My Pride Story, both a social movement and LGBTQ+ focused clothing line. We may be in quarantine but we can still celebrate pride and feel a sense of community together. Simply post a video telling your pride story on Instagram or Tik Tok with the #MyPrideStory and check out all the other inspiring LGBTQ+ pride stories…
…and to help tell your story, I created a clothing line made up of over 40 different shirts that allow you to show that you’re both proud to be a member or supporter of the LGBTQ+ community but also so much more. We’re children, parents, scientists, lawyers, kings, and queens… we deserve pride clothing that actually represents us, and 20% of the proceeds will go to the Center on Halsted which is a local LGBTQ+ community center in my city of Chicago.

I grew up in the closet because I was afraid my family would disown me or send me to conversation therapy if they found out I was gay.
They are really loving people but are conservative Christians and have friends who actively speak hate against the LGBTQ+ community.
I remember hating myself and had a hard time reconciling my faith and love for God with the terrible things other Christians were saying about me my colorful community.
Two years ago I finally came out to my family. They still haven’t all fully come to terms with my sexual orientation but I learned that I can’t change who I love, that I’m proud to be a part of such a diverse community, and that while people might put me in a box; there is more to me than just my sexuality.
